General Athletic Information

PHILOSOPHY - The purpose for athletics at Sumter Christian School is to give Christian athletes a positive Christian atmosphere in which they may develop in physical competition and grow in Christian character. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend the games and cheer positively for SCS, but never against the opponent. Hissing, booing, and other such unchristian conduct is inadmissible. The calls of the officials represent God's authority for the contest. Parents who complain about the officiating are in fact undermining their own God-given authority.

FUNDING - Income for the athletic program comes from primarily three sources: 1) Each athlete pays a fee per sport ($45 for varsity and $35 for JV), 2) Admission price to games, and 3) Contributions from parents, grandparents, and friends. The money is used for uniforms, officials, athletic equipment, and maintenance of the fields. All money from the sale of concessions goes to the senior class. They work in the concession areas to earn money for their senior trip to Washington, D.C. in May. Many people have made contributions over the years, some small and some large; and God has blessed us by providing our needs. Your contributions are tax deductible.
