FINE ARTS
“O sing unto the LORD a new song; For he hath done marvellous things…”
Psalm 98:1a
Sumter Christian School's Fine Arts Program offers three levels of Band (Beginning, Intermediate, and Concert) and the opportunity to participate at our annual SCACS Fine Arts Competition in Art, Music, Academic Testing, Spelling Bee, etc. Private lessons are available on campus for interested students.
STUDENT COUNCIL
Christian Leadership
All students in Grades 6 through 12 have the opportunity to be nominated, to vote, and to offer ideas for Student Council action. The SCS Student Council was formed in 2019-20 for the following purposes:
Strive for Christian leadership.
Model Christ-like behavior in the classroom, during extra-curricular activities, and in our community.
Involve all students in making our school the best it can be.
Help all students work together in our school.
Give all students practice in exercising democratic principles.
Demonstrate Christ’s love in our community.

ANCHORAGE RETREAT
At the beginning of each school year our high school students spend three days and four nights at the Anchorage Christian Camp at Lake Waccamaw in North Carolina. The spiritual emphasis of the camp allows our students to hear evangelistic and edifying preaching while having fun in a safe Christian environment.
"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;"
Hebrews 6:19
STEM & ROBOTICS
The SCS Robotics Club uses Cue and Dash bots. These bots are easy to use and great in many areas of STEM. For example, the Cue bots which the older kids are using on iPads have multiple applications where they have to use their creative thinking to move the bot along a graphed plane and solve problems. While the Dash bots, being used by the younger kids, accomplish the same thing and they are simpler than the cue bots.

AMERICAN CHRISTIAN HONOR SOCIETY
The American Christian Honor Society (ACHS) was founded by AACS in 1979 to honor qualified high school students in member schools and to be uniquely Christian in its emphasis. The American Christian Honor Society seeks to:
Advance Christian Scholarship
Challenge Christian Leadership
Honor Christian Character
Stimulate Christian Service
Get Active

YEARBOOK
Students in grades 9-12 create our annual Bear Tracks yearbook using Online Design at Walsworth Yearbooks under the direction of our Yearbook Supervisor, Mary Hankins. Our 2022-23 yearbook, New Horizons, was dedicated to Mr. Laurance Kannon.
ELEMENTARY MUSIC
Elementary Music is offered to grades 1-3. Led by our Band Director, Miss Elisabeth Austin, the students are learning folk, patriotic, seasonal, and sacred songs.

HANDBELL CHOIR
We are thankful to offer a hand-bell choir to our elementary, middle, and high school students.
